A philosophical question has been posed, over and over again- “What makes humans different from other animals?”
We make use of abstract symbols to communicate with each other, in many instances over spans of time measured in thousands of years. We’re doing it right now! Writing uses abstract symbols. Art does, too. To the best of my knowledge, no other creatures do this.
