The 2013 Indian River Lagoon Paddle Adventure was a 19 day paddle trip from New Smyrna Beach to Jupiter, 160 miles, the entire length of the Indian River Lagoon. Five people made the entire trip. At least 30 other folks either paddled for a day or more or supported the trip. While the Indian River Lagoon has some serious water quality problems, the goal of the trip was to celebrate the beauty and biological diversity of the lagoon, and to make people aware of how precarious is the lagoon’s hold on life.
